PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive device in which a drive motor can be easily installed and properly linked with the drive mechanism, and which is advantageous for miniaturization, and desirable to apply to optical heads to drive lenses. SOLUTION: The drive mechanism 3 is housed in a roughly block shaped main part 1 to move the lens frame 2 in the optical axis direction, and the drive motor 4 is attached to the counter surface 10 of the main part 1. A base plate 5 is attached to the output shaft side of the drive motor 4, and an insertion tabs 6 project from one end of the base plate 5 with a connecting tab 7 erected on the other end. The insertion tabs 6 are inserted into the corresponding area (groove 16) on the main part 1. A recess 70 is formed on the connecting tab 7 and fitted to the projection 17 of the side of the main part 1. A recess 71 is formed continuous with the recess 70 at the root of the connecting tab 7. The recess 71 is fitted to the protrusion 19 of the counter surface 10 and prevented from falling out by a stop tab 8 sticking out toward the recess 71. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
