PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming molding machine which clamps a movable die plate by a simple movement mechanism, and its operating method. SOLUTION: In the foaming molding machine in which two ball screws 5 and 6 for moving a die plate 2 are loaded in a position which pinches a mold 4 and confronts of a movable die plate 2, a high-speed movement mechanism 8 of a movable die plate 2 is arranged at the end of one ball screw 5, a low-speed movement mechanism 9 of a movable die plate 2 is arranged at the end of the other ball screw 6, and a power transmission member 11 is arranged between these ball screws 5 and 6. The high-speed movement mechanism 8 includes a motor 13 in which a motor shaft 12 is directly linked with a ball screw 5, and the low-speed movement mechanism 9 includes a motor 21 and a reducer 22 connected to a motor 21.
