PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film which is homogeneous and uniform optically by minimizing foreign substances incorporated in a protective film in an optical film roll keeping the optical film overlaid/wound with the protective film. SOLUTION: In the optical film roll making the optical film made of a cyclic olefin resin overlaid/wound with the protective film, the number of fish eyes with the diameters of at least 30μm in the protective film is 5/m<SP>2</SP>or below.
