<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a circuit scale of a prediction circuit for generating an in-frame predicted image to a macro block. <P>SOLUTION: An image encoding apparatus includes an image decision means to decide a complexity of an original image, a division mode selecting means to select a division mode of an encoding subject macro block from a plurality of division modes of the macro block corresponding to the decided complexity, and a predicted image generating means to generate the predicted image to the macro block corresponding to the selected division mode and to output a difference value from the original image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
