<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device in which the erroneous detection of toner concentration is reduced, and to provide an image forming apparatus in which the deterioration of image quality is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device is equipped with: a stirring chamber in which developer containing toner and carrier is stored, inside which the developer is stirred and which is provided with a window; a developing part which feeds the developer stirred in the stirring chamber to a predetermined developing position and develops an electrostatic latent image at the developing position; a stirring part which is arranged in the stirring chamber and stirs the developer stored in the stirring chamber while moving it in a predetermined moving direction in the stirring chamber; a toner concentration detection part which detects the toner concentration of the developer in the stirring chamber through the window; and a scraping member which scrapes off the toner stuck to the inner wall of the stirring chamber on a more upstream side in the moving direction than the window. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
