PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with improved usability in detecting a telop such as news flash and automatically displaying a preliminarily specified predetermined broadcast program (broadcasting channel), etc. on the basis of its detection result. SOLUTION: The display device 1 is provided with a telop detection part 31 which discriminates whether or not the telop as emergency information is displayed on the display part 16 of the display device 1. The telop detection part 31 discriminates that the telop is displayed on the display part 16 and a control means 1 automatically displays other broadcast other than the one being displayed on the display part 16 for viewing on the basis of the discrimination result. Thus, a user can view the preferred broadcast, to acquire information and the user can obtain information on a telop to be displayed in other broadcast by automatically displaying the other broadcast other than the one being viewed on the display part 16.
