PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass top plate preventing flawing during cleaning or the like by a protection ring, and preventing wear and loosening of an interposed packing. SOLUTION: The top plate 1 is comprised by surrounding an outer circumference rim part of a glass plate 2 by a protection body 7. The protection ring 20 attached to an opening circumference part of a burner opening 20a of the glass plate 2 is provided with cylinder parts 21b, 22b to be inserted in the burner opening, and upper and lower rings 21, 22 having upper and lower flange parts 21a, 22a facing an opening circumference upper face and an opening circumference lower face of the glass plate 2. A protrusion 22c provided on the cylinder part 22b is engaged with an engagement hole 21c provided in the cylinder part 21b to couple the rings 21, 22. An annular recessed part 22d holding the packing 24 interposed below the glass plate 2 is provided on the lower flange part 22a to prevent disengagement and loosening of the packing 24.
