PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper diaper whose assembly procedure can be changed corresponding to the posture of a wearer or the like and which can be used as both a fastener type diaper and a pants type diaper. SOLUTION: The paper diaper which can be used as both a fastener type diaper and a pants type diaper has a waist section 10 to be worn surrounding the waist of a wearer, and an absorptive body 20 extended so as to cover from the back side part of the waist section 10 through a crotch section and up to the front side part of the waist section 10. The back end section of the absorptive body 20 is connected to the back side part of the waist section 10, and at the front end section of the absorptive body 20, the male material 25 of a mechanical fastener is provided on the inner surface and a female material 26 is provided on the outer surface. The waist section 10 has an intermediate section 10c corresponding to the absorptive body 20 in a product width direction and side flaps 11 and 12 respectively provided on both sides. At the respective side flaps 11 and 12, the male material 15 of the mechanical fastener is provided on the inner surface and the female material 16 is provided on the outer surface.
