PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve color purity and contrast of emission color of an electroluminescent display device. SOLUTION: Colorant which has a substantial absorption performance in a specific wavelength is made to be contained in a member, especially, in a sealant, thereby unnecessary light which deteriorates color purity can be removed, and the color purity and contrast of the electroluminescent display device can be improved greatly. By using concurrently the colorant which improves color purity, a light-emitting element which does not have good emission characteristics but has excellent durability can be used.
