PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that is configured to prevent generation of abnormal images due to warp deformation by preventing, with a simple structure, a warpage due to a frictional force working during the thermal expansion of imaging elements. SOLUTION: The optical scanner scans by making light to pick up an image on a surface to be scanned using a light source, a deflector and a scanning imaging element 100. The optical scanner is characterized in that the scanning imaging element 100 is held between an elastic member and a stopper member 300 at least in a subscanning direction, and that a contact part 100A in contact with the stopper member 300 in the subscanning direction in the scanning imaging element 100 is provided with a contact face in a part which is inside H1 from the maximum width H in the subscanning direction of the scanning imaging element 100 and close to the center side in the subscanning direction.
