DISPERSION CONTAINING HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND METHOD OF PAPERMAKING BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a dispersion containing a water soluble polymer having an ultra high molecular weight while suppressing the viscosity increase in its dispersion polymerization in an aqueous salt solution, and preventing the reduction of the molecular weight. SOLUTION: This method for producing the dispersion containing the high molecular weight water soluble polymer having an intrinsic viscosity 18 to 25 dl/g measured at 25°C in 1 N-NaCl aqueous solution is obtained by performing the dispersion polymerization of a vinyl-based monomer or vinyl-based monomer mixture in the aqueous salt solution under agitation in the co-presence of a polymer dispersant soluble in the aqueous salt solution together with the addition of a polymerization retardant by 0.5 to 5 mol% based on the whole monomers.
