PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a usable dental material characterized by low polymerization contractiveness and good mechanical properties as compared to standard methacrylate-based dental materials of common use, and also affording additionally advantageous properties such as tackiness. SOLUTION: The dental material comprises at least one polymerizable calix[n]arene of the formula(I), an initiator, at least one additional monomer polymerizable under cationic polymerization conditions and/or radical-polymerization conditions and/or by ring opening, a (meth)acrylate or polyfunctional (meth)acrylate polymerizable by ring opening, a filler and an additive.
