A billing method for an unmanned printer is provided to prevent a user from requesting to print again for a unprinted part for printing pages only within a printing limit charge even if the user does not know the remainder of a prepaid or deferred payment card, and enable the user to use the unmanned printer economically by allowing the user to select a needed part before a file is printed. An application module stores a target file in a spool file form. An image converting module converts the spool file stored in a spooler into image data(S10). An image outputting module outputs the image data in an image form through an image output tool(S14). A control module fixes images and the number of pages to be printed according to user selection(S16). A billing module calculates a printing charge according to the fixed number of pages(S18). The control module checks the remainder by reading a payment card inserted into a card reader and checks printing availability by comparing the remainder with the printing charge(S20). The user fixes again the images and the number of pages to be printed when the printing is unavailable. The control module performs the printing by transferring information for the image data and page information to the printer when the printing is available(S24).
