<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bracket for a handrail which enables a bracket body to be easily mounted to and demounted from a base member. <P>SOLUTION: This bracket comprises the base member 10 fixed to a wall surface 1, and the bracket body 20 which can be mounted to and demounted from the base member. The base member is formed of a plate-like member which has a through-hole 12 for a fixing screw 11 for the base member, and a screw hole 13 for screwing a fixing screw 21, a top surface 14 has a V-shaped groove 15. The bracket body comprises a mounting seat 22 which abuts on the surface of the base member, a placing protrusion 23 which is formed on the top surface, and an insertion hole 24, and a V-shaped protrusion 27 capable of being fitted into the V-shaped groove is formed on the undersurface of the placing protrusion. The placing protrusion of the bracket body is formed on the top surface of the base member, and the fixing screw passing through the insertion hole is screwed and fixed into the screw hole in a state that the V-shaped groove and the V-shaped protrusion are fitted to each other and temporarily fixed to each other.
