<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deformation effectively by a sudden external force while keeping a volume-reducing operation to some extent. <P>SOLUTION: A bottle 1 has a mouth portion 2, a shoulder portion 3, and a body portion 4 with a rectangular cross section in the upward downward direction. A vertical rib 10 for folding extending in the upward downward direction and having a forked upper end is formed on each of right and left side surfaces 4b and 4b of the body portion 4. A lateral rib 14 for folding extending in the right-left direction is formed in the boundary part between the front and rear side surfaces 4a and 4a of the body portion 4 and the shoulder portion 3.
