POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT AND DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive power supply circuit for inputting an AC voltage having a wide range of voltage values by suppressing useless power consumption.

SOLUTION: A voltage dividing circuit 112 is connected between a power supply line from an AC power supply AC. The voltage dividing circuit 112 comprises a serial circuit of capacitors C1and C2. A voltage generated in a connection point (a) between the capacitors C1and C2is used as an input into a voltage stabilizing circuit 113. Consequently, the current consumption in the voltage stabilizing circuit 113 can be suppressed as compared to a case where an output voltage VOUTof a full-wave rectification circuit 111 is used as an input of a voltage stabilizing circuit 113.
