PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool down a coil efficiently with easy constitution, in a cylindrical linear motor of a type with a core. SOLUTION: In the cylindrical linear motor of the type with the core, a plate type heat pipe 19 is used as a cooling means to cool down the coil 17. The plate type heat pipe 19 is separated in each coil 17 so that a flow of magnetic flux within the armature core 15 may not be interrupted, and is fitted in a slot 16 of the armature core 15. The heat pipe 19 is held between the coil 17 and the armature core 15, and forms such a state as the pipe adheres to both of these. Such a portion of the heat pipe 19 as adheres to the coil 17 is formed as a heat absorbing portion, and a heat dissipating portion 19b which extends to its opposite side protrudes outside from a gap 20 of the armature core 15. A radiating fin 21 formed by a metal material of high heat conductivity is fitted to the heat dissipating portion 19b by welding, brazing and the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
