PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for an organic light emitting device having a light emission hue with an extremely good purity and the optical output of high luminance and a long life time with high efficiency. SOLUTION: The material is a fused heterocyclic compound having a partial structure represented by general formula [1] (wherein X1 to X10 are each a carbon or nitrogen atom for constituting a ring, and at least one of X1 to X10 represents a nitrogen atom; and R1 and R2 are each a halogen atom, an alkyl group, alkenyl group, alkynyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, condensed polycyclic aromatic group or the like).
