PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method by which an immersion nozzle can be prevented from breaking due to thermal stress occurring when a casting process is started, and to provide the immersion nozzle used for the continuous casting method. SOLUTION: The continuous casting method is provided for performing the continuous casting by pouring molten metal into a tundish equipped with the immersion nozzle for pouring molten metal into a mold at the bottom part, and the method is characterized in that it includes: a preheating step of covering at least a spouting hole of the immersion nozzle with a heat insulating material and preheating the immersion nozzle by high frequency induction heating; and a casting step of pouring the molten metal into the mold from the tundish through the immersion nozzle preheated in the preheating step.
