<p>The method involves providing document with a bar code, whose stripes (1) are transparent and surfaces are wiped. The region of the bar code is pigmented with a color material for visualizing the stripes. The bar code is applied in a negative form in such a manner that the stripes form and place readable codes in the end instead of stripe gaps. The pigmented regions are scanned and are inverted for reproduction of the bar code. A bar code reader is provided for reading the bar code.</p>
