PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element and a new aromatic compound wherein a luminous lifetime is long, a durability is excellent, and a luminous efficiency is high. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element sandwiches at least one layer of layers containing at least one kind of compound having a bisdibenzofuran skeleton between a pair of electrodes (for instance, one expressed by the formula (1)).
