PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exterior material allowing a worker to easily confirm and determine the improper positional deviation of a waterproofing seal to be attached to an actually protruding part. SOLUTION: This exterior material is constituted by providing the actually protruding part 2 protrudedly at one side end of a base 1, providing a recessed groove 3 at the other side end, attaching the waterproofing seal 4 to a surface of the actually protruding part 2, and connecting the actually protruding part 2 with the recessed groove 3 by jointing them by a shiplap joint method through the waterproofing seal 4. A mark 5 for confirming mounting position is formed on a surface of a position for attaching the waterproofing seal 4 in the actually protruding part 2. The worker can confirm a mounting position of the waterproofing seal 4 in the breadthwise direction of protrusion of the actually protruding part 2 based on positional relation of the waterproofing seal 4 for the mark 5 for confirming mounting position.
