PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a roof itself from direct sunlight through a simple structure, and to prevent the roof from being heated to a high temperature by cooling the same. SOLUTION: The roof is characterized in that a planar substrate 2 having pores 9 dispersively formed therein is laid on a surface of the roof 1 across a gap 8. Alternatively the planar substrate 2 is laid on the surface of the roof 1 having recesses 11 formed therein and projections 12 formed thereon in a constant direction, and air ducts 14 are secured in a space between the recesses 11 and the planar substrate 2, followed by forming the pores 9 in the planar substrate 2, at locations above the air ducts 14.
