PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat resistant material for a chain link having excellent toughness. SOLUTION: The heat resistant material for a chain link has a composition comprising, by weight, 0.2 to 0.5% C,≤2% Si,≤2% Mn, 24 to 28% Cr, 11 to 14% Ni and 0.21 to 0.29% N, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. In this way, the material suitable for the stock of a chain link composing a conveyer chain having toughness more excellent than that of SCH13 and strength equal to or above that of SCH13 and used in a high temperature atmosphere can be made.
