PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition for automotive internal trim material, capable of forming coating film of high adhesiveness on a plastic substrate by baking and drying at a temperature of as low as about 60°C and giving such coating film excellent in soft touch feeling, tallow resistance, chemical resistance and scratch resistance. SOLUTION: The aqueous coating composition for automotive internal trim material comprises (A) an aqueous urethane resin, (B) an aqueous chlorinated polyolefin-modified acrylic resin, (C) an aqueous polyolefin resin and (D) elastic particles. In this coating composition, the amount of the resin C is 15-50 mass% based on a total of 100 mass% of the resins A, B and C, the mass ratio of the resin A to the resin B is (90:10) to (50:50) on a solid basis, the resin A is 100% or greater in elongation percentage at 20°C, the chlorinated polyolefin modification level in the resin B is 5-40 mass%, and the resin C is a nonchlorinated aqueous polypropylene-based resin, being 35-50% in degree of crystallinity and 50,000-200,000 in weight-average molecular weight.
