<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit to the outside that a copy inhibited page has been read in the case that an original including the copy inhibited page has been read. <P>SOLUTION: An image read means 9 reads the original and generates image data, and a storage means 11 stores the generated image data. A pattern information detection means 13 detects whether or not there is pattern information indicating the copy inhibited page in the stored image data.
