PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus in which the durability, black spot resistance, image density and charging properties of an electrophotographic photoreceptor for monochrome black in the color image forming apparatus are equal to those of the remaining electrophotographic photoreceptors even after mass printing use. SOLUTION: In the color image forming apparatus comprising a plurality of image forming units each having a development means of forming a toner image on an electrophotographic photoreceptor, and wherein, using toner in which color phases are different per image forming unit, a toner image is formed on the electrophotographic photoreceptor, and the formed toner image is successively superimposed on a transferring material from the electrophotographic photoreceptor, so as to be transferred, in at least one of the electrophotographic photoreceptor used for a black image forming unit and the electrophotographic photoreceptors used for image forming units other than black among a plurality of the image forming units, each under coating layer is subjected to surface treatment for 1 to 4 times by N type semiconductor particles.
