PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which has improved positioning accuracy with respect to the optical axis direction of a rotary drive barrel and can be made compact. SOLUTION: In the lens barrel, when the rotary drive barrel 4 is rotationally driven around an optical axis, a cam barrel 5 is directly moved in the optical axis direction, while being rotated around the optical axis, in such a manner that a cam pin 5a passes through the drive groove 4a of the rotary drive barrel 4 and is engaged with the cam groove 3a of a fixed barrel 3. A straight advancing barrel 6 is moved in the optical axis direction along the lift of a cam groove 4c, while the straight advance of the straight advancing barrel 6 is regulated by the straight advancing groove 3b of the fixed barrel 3, in accordance with the rotation of the rotary drive barrel 4.
