PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve uniformity of brightness of each part on a screen of a projection display device in order to accurately compare and evaluate medical electronic images and X-ray films. SOLUTION: The projection display device 100 has an optical drive part 1, a projection lens 2, a return mirror 3, a first brightness detection sensor 51, a second brightness detection sensor 52, a brightness detection means 10, a control part and a screen 4 comprising display regions divided into two or more. The device acquires brightness of each division display region of the screen 4 and with the first brightness detection sensor 51, the second brightness detection sensor 52, and the brightness detection means 10, an external light volume and adjusts brightness of the division display region of the screen 4 considering the external light volume by controlling the optical drive part 1 with the control part.
