PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fiber and a manufacturing method thereof, wherein an adhesive can be filled up in good conditions without making air bubbles remain when filling up with the adhesive between a twisted part and a sleeve. SOLUTION: A part of a covering 4 of the image fiber 1 having the covering 4 formed on the periphery of glass fibers 3 having a plurality of pixel fibers arranged inside a quartz jacket is removed, the twisted part 2 is formed by heating and twisting an exposed part of the glass fiber 3, and a translucent protective sleeve 5 is covered on the periphery of the twisted part 2. The adhesive 6 is injected and filled up between the twisted part 2 and the protective sleeve 5, and the injection state of the adhesive 6 is visually confirmed through the protective sleeve 5.
