PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope reinforcing member which facilitates construction of safety fence and removal of the same whenever one stage of a mound is piled up, and to provide a slope reinforcing method using the slope reinforcing member, which is excellent in workability and safety. SOLUTION: The slope reinforcing member 1 is integrally formed of a horizontal gauze portion 13 and an inclined gauze portion 12 which rises from a front edge of the horizontal gauze portion by inclining at an angle almost equal to the inclination angle of the slope. Then the slope reinforcing member has a pair of vertical pipe holders 4, 4 attached to a front surface of the inclined gauze portion, for holding a vertical pipe 3 for the safety fence in a manner withdrawable upward. According to the slope reinforcing method, the slope reinforcing member 1 is employed, and whenever one stage of a mound is piled up, work of easily constructing the safety fence S by holding the vertical pipe 3 by means of the vertical pipe holders 4 and easily removing the constructed safety fence, is repeatedly carried out, to thereby improve the workability and safety of the construction work.
