PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic track-cycle capable of easily and rapidly changing the direction with less labor. SOLUTION: The automatic track-cycle for performing the maintenance and inspection of railroad rails L comprises front and rear wheels consisting of wheels rolling on the railroad rails, a vehicle body 2 mounted on the front and rear wheels while allowing persons to ride thereon, and an engine 3 for allowing the vehicle body 2 to travel along the railroad rails L by driving the front and rear wheels, and further comprises a jack 11 provided in a vicinity of the center of gravity of the vehicle body 2 and capable of jacking up the vehicle body 2, a ground contact means 12 which is lowered for ground contact by the jacking-up operation by the jack 11, a rotary member 13 which is interposed between the ground contact means 12 and the jack 11 to permit the relative rotation of the jack 11 to the ground contact means 12 in a jacked-up condition, and a direction changing means 4 for changing the direction of the vehicle body 2.
