PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a workpiece into a spherical shape with high degree of accuracy in a machining device. SOLUTION: This machining device 1 is provided with an upper disc 3 and a lower disc 4 respectively having circular grooves 3b, 4b opposed to each other for sandwiching the workpiece (5), and a rotation driving means 7 rotating at least one (lower disc 4) of these upper disc 3 and lower disc 4.
