<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for accurately recognizing a detection object included in a sheet-like material. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading section 20 of the inspection apparatus has a sensor 21 and sensor 22. The sensor 21 and sensor 22 read the first surface and second surface of a paper sheet S, respectively, and create image data (first image data) showing the first surface and image data (second image data) showing the second surface. The paper sheet S contains fibrous metal as the detection object in a substrate. Since the detection object is buried in the paper sheet S, it is slightly unclear. As a result, the detection object appears in both the first image data and second image data, or can appear in only either of the first image data and second image data. The inspection apparatus specifies the number of detection objects actually included in the paper sheet S according to the number of detection objects appearing in the first image data and the number of detection objects appearing in the second image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
