<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor with a protector effectively protecting a detection element from water damage while securing a satisfactory gas-exchangeability. <P>SOLUTION: The protector 100 protects a detection part 11 of a sensor element 10 of the gas sensor 1. The amount and size of water droplets to pass through inside inlets 130 and 140 and to adhere to the sensor element 10 are restricted by setting each opening area of the inside inlets 130 and 140 open to an inside protector 120 in the protector 100 to 3.5 mm<SP>2</SP>or smaller. The sum of the opening areas of the inside inlets 130 and 140 is set at 10 mm<SP>2</SP>or larger for securing a gas-exchangeability inside and outside the inside protector 120 and for acquiring a satisfactory gas responsiveness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
