<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber roller where the occurrence of a defect and the deterioration of quality resulting from adhesiveness between a rubber layer and a shaft body are restrained. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber roller has the shaft body having a plated coating film containing at least a nickel atom on its surface, and the rubber layer formed by vulcanizing unvulcanized rubber composition to which sulfur or a vulcanizing agent containing a sulfur atom in molecular structure is added on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body.
