<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent carbon monoxide from being discharged into the air in a large amount more than emission regulation by a simple means when burning capacity is changed. <P>SOLUTION: This combustion device comprises a burner 1, an endothermic means 2 absorbing heat from the gas produced by the burner 1, a catalyst 4 for oxidizing at least carbon monoxide in the gas after passing through the endothermic means 2, and a control means 8 for controlling the combustion of the burner 1 under a first set condition so that the concentration of carbon monoxide in the gas on the primary side of the catalyst 4 becomes a first set value. The burner 1 can switch a burning capacity between a first burning capacity and a second burning capacity, and the control means 8 performs control to suppress the production of carbon monoxide in changing the burning capacity, from the first burning capacity to the second burning capacity and vice versa. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
