<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which sets up the concentration of the low frequency wave image data of image data appropriately so as to obtain an effect of the covered exposure, without receiving effect in the chroma saturation of a highlight part. <P>SOLUTION: A density histogram is generated from the input image data in a density histogram generation section 21. A conversion curve for gamma correction is generated in a conversion curvilinear generation section 25. Both the value of R, G and B of pixels corresponding to the end of the density histogram and the amount of offset with the end by the side of the highlight of the conversion curve are acquired by the amount acquisition of offset section 27. A conversion line setting section 32 is provided such that a conversion line is displaced in the concentration compression direction as it accords to the greatest one of this amount of offset. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
