PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for forcedly forming insoluble granules of a recombinant protein in host cells without producing the recombinant protein as a fused protein. SOLUTION: The method for producing the insoluble granules of the recombinant protein using host cells is provided, comprising the step of transforming the host cells using a DNA encoding a protein differing from the above recombinant protein and forming insoluble granules when produced singly in the host cells and a second DNA encoding the recombinant protein, and the step of culturing the transformed host cells to produce the recombinant protein and the latter protein differing from the recombinant protein, respectively. Using this method, protein with low stability in host cells or protein affecting the proliferation or survival of host cells can be stably mass-produced. Furthermore, this method enables a recombinant protein of higher purity to be prepared more easily because of no need of expressing a desired protein as a fused protein with another protein, therefore because of no need of chemically and/or enzymatically cleaving a fused protein in the step of retrieving the aimed recombinant protein.
