PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear differential transformer which is easy to mount to each kind of device, and with which each kind of device can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: The linear differential transformer 100 transforms a mechanical linear displacement to an electric signal by varying a magnetically combining state between a first coil 120 and a second coil 130 in a stator 110 by moving a mover 140 along a one axis direction. Both of the first coil 120 and the second coil 130 are flat and arranged opposing to each other through a gap S, and the mover 140 can be moved along the direction of an axis (z) (in a direction of±z) within the gap S between the first coil 120 and the second coil 130.
