PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire which can be employed for suppressing a crack arising at the end part in the case that the temperature of a carcass ply is low, in a step of folding back the carcass ply. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the pneumatic tire provides a winding step for winding a band shaped carcass ply 14 on an outer periphery of a band drum 12 and a folding back step for folding the end part of the carcass band 16 inside, after the winding step described above, and the carcass ply 14 is formed by coating unvulcanaized rubber 20 on plural cords 18 arranged each other in parallel, when the end part of the carcass band 16 is turned up in the fold backing step, a heating step where the end part of the carcass band 16 is heated to a temperature not to generate a crack at the end part of the carcass band 16, is arranged before the folding back step, therefore generation of the crack at the end part is suppressed in a case where the temperature of the carcass ply 14 is low.
