<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when a conductive sponge roller is adopted as a transfer roller in an image forming apparatus, if the roller is allowed to stand in contact with an adjacent photoreceptor drum over a long period of time, permanent set of the rubber occurs in the contact location, whereby a good image cannot be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In a conductive foam roller comprising a metal core 51 and a foamed rubber layer 52 which is conductive foamed rubber, a compression set is confined to ≤1.75% by carrying out primary vulcanization at 160°C for 60 min and secondary vulcanization at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
