PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulative vehicular cable which is cost effective and in which there are no halogen and no heavy metals. SOLUTION: The insulative vehicular cable 10 which is not halogenated, and in which heavy metals do not exist is equipped with at least an inside core 14 of a copper based metal wire having a cross-sectional area of at least about 0.1 mm<SP>2</SP>, and an outside insulation part 12 that covers a prescribed length of the inside core, and that is composed of a thermoplastic polyphenylene ether component having no halogen nor heavy metals added to the halogen, and can conform to the test standard ISO6722.
