PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera designed such that a user can perceive that a dust-proof device is in operation during through-image display. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes: a CCD 221 that receives a subject luminous flux passed through a photographic lens and outputs a subject signal; a liquid crystal monitor 26 that performs through-image display with a subject dynamic image based on the subject image signal; a dust-proof filter 218 disposed in front of the CCD 221; a piezoelectric element that vibrates the dust-proof filter 218 in a non-audible area; a dust-proof filter drive circuit 216 that supplies a control signal to the piezoelectric element 220 in order to vibrate the dust-proof filter 218; and a CCD vibrating mechanism 222 that periodically displaces the CCD 221 along a plane vertical to the optical axis of the photographic lens. When the dust-proof filter 218 is vibrated while the through-image display is maintained, a blurred image is displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 26 by displaying the CCD 221 by means of the CCD vibrating mechanism 221 so that a user can become aware that the digital camera is in the dust-proof operation.
