PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bactericidal water by electrolyzing hydrochloric acid in a non-membrane type electrolytic bath and by diluting the resultant electrolytic solution with water, wherein pH does not become lower than necessary even if the water for dilution is soft water. SOLUTION: Two electrolytic baths are connected each other with a water conduit in series. The hydrochloric acid is electrolyzed first in the upstream side bath and next in the downstream side bath, wherein the voltage applied between electrodes facing to each other in the downstream side bath is higher than that in the upstream side bath. Then the discharged electrolytic solution is diluted with the water for dilution to obtain the bactericidal water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
