It is intended to provide a copolymer whereby the extraction of a protein or a water repellent treatment process can be simplified with a small environmental load, and a method of producing the same. A copolymer comprising a fluorine-containing monomer and a hydrophilic high molecule-containing monomer and a protein are added to supercritical or liquid carbon dioxide. Thus, the hydrophilic high molecule segments of the above-described polymer aggregate due to the intermolecular force and coat the surface of the protein. Thus, the protein becomes soluble in the supercritical or liquid carbon dioxide.
