摘要 Oxygen-containing organic compounds, particularly aldehydes, are produced by a method comprising contacting an olefinic hydrocarbon with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in an "Oxo" synthesis reaction zone operated continuously without the introduction of cobalt compounds in the solid phase, at an elevated temperature and at a pressure of at least 50 atmospheres in the presence, as catalyst, of a previously prepared cobalt carbonyl, maintaining the product, or a part thereof comprising cobalt compounds, in a cobalt recovery zone operated continuously in the absence of hydrogen, under conditions of temperature and pressure such that cobalt carbonyls are decomposed to cobalt metal, the liquid phase flow rate in the "Oxo" synthesis zone being maintained in the range 0.2 to 2.0 vol./vol./hour and the liquid phase flow rate in the cobalt recovery zone being maintained in the range 5 to 50 vol./vol./hour. The preferred pressure range in the "Oxo" reaction zone is 50-250 atmospheres. Suitable olefines are for example ethylene, propylene, butene-1, butene-2, isobutene and olefins having 5 or more carbon atoms per molecule. Suitable olefine-containing mixtures for use as feed-stocks are synthesis products from carbon monoxide and hydrogen such as those obtained by the Fischer-Tropsch or "Hydrocol" processes; cracked gasoline fractions from such processes as high temperature steam cracking for the production of gaseous olefins; products of cracking wax or slack wax fractions, shale gasoline; and products of thermal reforming, thermal cracking processes for gasoline production and "polymer gasoline." Preferably the product stream from the "Oxo" synthesis reaction zone is treated for the separation of a gaseous phase mixture of residual carbon monoxide and hydrogen p from a liquid mass of residual olefine and reaction products, the liquid phase mixture thereafter being treated for the precipitation and separation of cobalt metal. In the examples: (a) propylene is treated according to the process to give mainly butyraldehyde; and (b) diisobutylene is treated to give mainly C9 aldehydes.
