发明名称 Protective circuit for an accumulator battery comprising cells connected in series
摘要 722,103. Discharging batteries; protective arrangements. JACQUIER, M. C. J. Sept. 10, 1951 [Sept. 11, 1950], No. 21294/51. Class 38 (4). A protective circuit for an accumulator battery comprising several seriesconnected cells E1 . . . E3 consists of bridging each cell by a respective rectifier D1 ... D3, each rectifier being so connected that the direction of normal current flow is from the negative to the positive pole of its corresponding cell. Thereby, when the battery is being discharged through a load C, should e.g. one cell become fully discharged before the others due to inequalities in cell capacity, it is stated that the continuing discharge current of the other cells causes the polarity of the one cell to reverse so that the current flows through the rectifier of the discharged cell whereby to avoid recharging of the latter at a reversed polarity by the current. Such polarity reversal of a battery alternatively could be obtained by incorrect connection of a charging source. The rectifiers may either be of the dry, or electronic types, and the batteries may be of the lead or of the alkaline types.
