PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic elastomer composition capable of producing a material having excellent balance among gas impermeability, mechanical physical properties and rubber elasticity and hardly causing bleedout. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic elastomer composition is obtained as follows. A raw material composition containing (A) 50-90 mass% of an isobutylene-isoprene copolymer rubber, (B) 1-49 mass% of anα-olefinic crystalline thermoplastic resin and (C) 1-49 mass% of anα-olefinic amorphous thermoplastic resin having≥10,000 number-average molecular weight (Mn) measured by GPC (gel permeation chromatography) and converted into polystyrene [with the proviso that (A)+(B)+(C) is 100 mass%] is dynamically heat-treated in the presence of (D) a cross-linking agent. The composition does not substantially contain (E) any of a phthalic ester-based plasticizer, a fatty acid ester-based plasticizer, a trimellitic ester-based plasticizer, a petroleum-based softener, a vegetable oil-based softener and polybutene oil.
