PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide biodegradable agricultural covering material whose initial strength and initial elongation are excellent enough to be durable in practical use, having favorable transparency and weather resistance, almost completely decomposed via microbial function after used so as to facilitate disposal treatment. SOLUTION: The biodegradable agricultural covering material is made of nonwoven fabric produced by a span bonding method using conjugation fibers as structural fibers. The conjugation fibers comprise polylactic acid polymer having a melting point of≥150°C and an aliphatic polyester copolymer having a melting point lower than that of the polylactic acid polymer, and the aliphatic polyester copolymer comprises at least part of the surfaces of the fibers. The aliphatic polyester copolymer comprises aliphatic diol, aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid used as a constituent, and is crosslinked. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
